WHAT IS THE GSKA BELT FINALS?
The GSKA Belt Finals is an invitation only tournament. It is held in Lake Tahoe, Nevada in October. It is the grand finally to a year long competition. Invitations are sent to GSKA competitors with 100 or more points in each division they compete in. They are mailed out after the September tournament. The competitor must have a least 100 points to qualify for the competition. Points are accumulated through out the year by attending tournaments.
“A” Rated tournaments are 15 points for competing. If the competitor places, additional points are given.” You do not need to be a member to receive points. However, if you become a member and participate in a “AA” Rated tournament, 25 points are given for competition and “AAA” Rated tournaments receive 35 points. If competitor places with first, second, third or forth place, additional points are given. Once the competitor reaches 100 points they qualify for the finals.
The competitor with the most points goes last in the forms divisions. The competitor with the most points in sparring fights last. The person with the fewest points over 100 goes first and fights their way to the top. When a loss occurs, the competitor is eliminated. The winner of the division receives
a Championship Belt. We do not combine divisions. Whether there is one or twenty in the division, each division winner receives a Belt. This is a three day long event with Forms performing on Friday,
Sparring on Saturday. On Sunday the presentations of the Belts are awarded. All participants receive a plaque for qualifying. Demo Team competition is part of our evening show on Saturday with cash for 1st, 2nd and 3rd places. Over all Grand Champion Sparring for Black Belt Adult Men also receive $1,000.00 and over all Grand Champion Adult Black Belt Forms receives $1,000.00.
